anyone here own a side charging AR or have any experience with them? Know of any manufacturer that mkes one? -j

I had one, but I never shot it. It was a DPMS. I believe Ameetec, ASA, and Socom mfg. also have side charging uppers

I love mine. Its much more comfortable for me to use a side charger since Im left handed. I did mine myself but ameetec makes a nice kit.

I think Fulton Armory has one with the handle mounted on the right side of the carrier with a slot to travel in cut into the reciever behind the ejection port.

Most of the AR smiths offer modified charging handle on the bolt and modified upper reciever.

this is common for match rifles which use stocks that dont allow use of the stock charging handle.
