Does DPMS still make them? or any body else?
Need one to make a PA legeal hunting ar. I need a barrel in 6.8 with no gas bore also.

I hate to say this but at one time American Spirit Arms made one. Not sure if they are still in business.

cant you just use the regular charging handle? and just not install the gas tube?

what are the PA laws?

Ameetec Arms does. $325 is a bit pricey for an unbarreled upper IMO but it comes with the side charging bolt carrier and charging handle as well.

Thanks for the reply. I think they went out of business, but one of the armorers started his own shop , but i do not recall the name. I thought Dpms had them . I do not see them in the catalog and the one I did see was a high flat top. IF more hunters knew your could make ar's operate manually (spring assited) there would be more of a demand. In PA the barrel can not have a gasport or it needs to be welded (not my recomended option).

I could , but I do not want to dismount for a hopefully not needed second shot
I wish I could just get a JP adjustable gas block and shot the gas off .

Thanks, that is alittle pricey.

If your whining about price then just use a 30-06. You can buy them all day long off gun boards from various older manufacturers for $250.

Why would I want to use a 30-06 when I have a 300WSM. I bet you use a double barrel shotgun crawling around on your belly for deer.

Its for JR Hunter.
