I'm a whimpy when it comes to gas to the face and think a side charging upper would solve the problem. However it seems that many side charging uppers have a hole where the charging handle usually goes. Do you know any that are totally blocked off at the back? |

You mean gas comes out the back end? No I'm not being mean.
I never thought about that. I just feel a little nudge from "the kick". Even when I forget to use my eye protection I don't feel any gas. Are you shooting left handed from a right handed gun? Again I am being totally serious. Forgive me if this sounds insensitive. |

When the gas key disconnects from the gas tube there is a momentary rush of expanding gases that blows rearward inside of the receiver and follow the charging handle channel. In suppressed guns, this is even more pronounced. Ever hear of the Gas Buster charging handle? It deflects these gasses away from the CH opening. |
