ok i haven't opened any scope with either mechanism to look inside how the "parallax adjustment" works, but from pure telescope design consideration, purely speculation, correct me if i am wrong:
adjustable objective scope moves objective lens to get distance target to focus on the fixed 2nd focal plane where reticle is, so while it removes parallax, it makes target better focused at the same time, and no need to adjust eye piece for different targets, reticle is fixed side focus, well i don't know the mechanism inside, can have 1) mechanical link to objective lens to move it just like AO type, or 2) while objective lens is fixed simply move the 2nd focal plane reticle to meet where the target image is (so remove parallax), but this way you have to adjust eye piece to get target of various distance to focus better... since 2nd focal plane and reticle moves any thoughts? |
