What's the adjustability of the front sight post as far as verticle movement?  I can't find my tool and need to raise it quite a bit.

The tip of a FMJ works just fine...

How far will it move up?

Use the tip of a bullet, a pin punch or some other small pointed object to push the detent down and nudge the sight in the direction you need it to go...  The detent will pop back up...  repeat the process until the sight is where you want it...

Thanks, not to sound stupid ,but is there a recommend height not to exceed or is just what ever.  The reason I ask is I'm having move up about 1/4" or more up.  I got it moved up and it has a little shake but not too bad.  I guess as long as it doesn't pop out it's fine. haha

What kind of set up do you have?  What distance are you trying to sight in at?

I have a front and rear flip up sights.  Evidently the front sight is meant for a gas block and is a little taller.  I'm using them on a rail and the front sight is a little taller.  I figure I'll get a small riser block and raise the rear sight.  By raising the front post almost a 1/4" I think it will line up.  This would be typically for no more than 100yds.  Typically 50 to 75 at most.

You need to get the proper front sight.  By moving the front post up that far you are going to compromise your acuracy and run the risk off the front sight post falling out.  Return the Gas Block Sight or put it on EE and get he right one.

Thanks, I ended up finding a riser for the rear sight.  It seems to work perfect.  For now at least I'll use this.  Next will be a set of Magpul sights.   It's pretty solid and the red dot is directly above the front sight post in the sight picture.  Thanks for the advice though.
