I have a question about sighting in my new bushy AR....I tried to qualify with it for work yeasteday.well being that it was the first time fireing the rifle since building it.I sighted in on the to corner target (on a b27? )target at 15 yards from the standing position.the shots were all darn close so any deviation would/could have been from me swaying. anyhow...as I shot for qualification at 15 ,25,50 yards my shots were all pretty much dead on but as I moved back to 75 yards(sitting) and 100 yards (prone) my shots were all high...I mean top of the head and higher...even with me aiming at the waist level of the target.Unfortunately I didnt have much time to experiment due to having to qualify with 3 firearms.
here is the set up:bushy rifle with 16 inch barrel(1/9),factory front sight ,ARMS#40 BUIS,and EOTech 552 (red dot centered on top of the front sight post) and I was using seller and bellot 55 grain fmj.

anyone have any ideas before I go  back to the range?

This is expected.  It's because of the height of the sights over the bore.  Sight in for 100 yards, and the point of impact will be negligably different at the closer ranges.

SoA, where'd you get that graphic?  If it's from a website, I'd love the link; it looks to be very informative.

made it with power point at 2AM.  I'm in the throwes of BRD and  I think it's progressed to BGS (Black Gun Syndrome) (All my guns are becoming black, rem PSSs, HKs, Springfields).  And all I do is surf ar15.com and SAW.  And I'm not ready to quit.  I need more......
