I am looking for a sling for my carbine. I have a ADS alpha basic and I am looking for a sling for my carbine, My ADS is used for range shooting and home defense only. I have read about various type slings and the single point sling seems to be the least favorable. I would be attaching the sling to a Daniel Defense EZ Carbine QD Swivel Attachment. For home defense would this sling serve my purpose as in keeping my carbine close at hand while guarding my "castle' or should I look in another direction for a sling? Thanks for your feedback.

| If its not something you will be wearing for an extended period of time a single point sling is OK. If Its something you are going to be moving around with alot and wearing for more than say...30 minutes, get a 2 point. I used a single point from Northeast Tactical for about 4 years and finally got tired of the sling cutting into my shoulder and getting hit in the nuts with the FSB. I rigged up a nice 2 point for about $12. |

I think you should try a single and double to find out for your self. They certainly are cheap enough. I have the opposite experience and will ONLY use single point slings on ALL of my rifles and SBR's. For me they are more comfortable, if adjusted right (for my body anyway) they do not hit you in the nuts, keeps your gun at port arms, easy access to a side arm, etc. I have used them in "all day" carbine classes and found them just as comfortable as a two point. Think about it, the weight of the rifle is the same and contact point on your shoulder is the same with a single as a double.
