Well it was having stuck case problem. I wrote bushmaster an email. I got a response from a REAL person! I couldent believe it. I cleaned it and took it out again and it wouldent cycle at all. I looked at the bolt while I shot it, it dident even move. Holy smokes what a problematic rifle. maybe the gas tube is messed up ? Bushmaster told me that I could send it back to them, I think I might. this is what they wrote The only thing that I can think of is that someone may have used some steel cased ammunition with a lacquer preservative coating that may have fouled the chamber. When the barrel gets hot any lacquer residue softens up causing the cases to stick even though it looks clean to begin with. I would recommend cleaning the chamber with a chamber brush and solvent then polishing the chamber to remove any residue. You can use a fine synthetic wool, found in hardware stores, spun on a dowel with a drill using WD-40 to polish the chamber. If you wish you can send us the barreled upper receiver for evaluation and correction by calling our Customer Service people at 1-800-883-6229 for an RMA return number. Thank you, |

Check the allen screws for the key on the carrier. Bushmaster has been known to not install them correctly, and a loose carrier key will allow the gas system to leak like a sive (read the bolt will not move). P.S. If your going to shoot wolf ammo, you need to run the upper more lubed with CLP than normal. And, it's not uncommon for Bushmaster barrels to need some brass ammo range time until the chambers self-polish out enough to run the Poly coated ammo. |
