Think I posted in the wrong forum. How large of magzine do most of you use and buy for the AR-15 - 20 or 30 rds?  What are advantages and disadvantages of each?

This is the correct forum.  Opinions are a dime a dozen here.  I like USGI 20s because: more reliable, hangs down less, lighter, fits easily into my hand.  No worrying about aftermarket gee whiz parts.

You probably want to have some of both.
I mostly have and use 30 rounders, but I have 20s too in case I want to shoot prone. and it MAY be a little easier to use a 20 from a bench rest depending on your set-up.

10 Rounds for me if I want to shoot prone or from a bench, otherwise all 30's man.

the M-16 was originally designed with 20rd mags. Eventually, a 30rd was designed b/c the troops complained the enemy usually had 30rd (AK's, etc).

look for the aluminum 20's with the alloy followers and aluminum 30rd's with the green or magpul followers. www.44mag.com
