Built a rifle with the boy today... managed to destroy a couple of c clips for the dust cover door. Darn thing jumped off of the hinge pin to parts unknown, then destroyed the only remaining replacement.
Where is the best source, without $8.00 shipping, to obtain a couple of those stinking small and frail c clips? Or am I stuck buying more stuff from Brownells to make it worthwhile :( |

They are 1/8" low clearance c clips. Make sure they're black or parkerized if going to a hardware store for purchase.
Or if silver colored, maybe black sharpie them. For the least expensive option regarding shipping/no shipping costs - Home Depot has them. 2/58¢ No stock, but you can have them shipped to the store for pick up. http://m.homedepot.com/p/Crown-Bolt-1-8-in-C-Clip-2-Bag-74588/203538006 Amazon also has them: $14/25 pack https://www.amazon.com/Hillman-Group-43376-8-Inch-25-Pack/dp/B00IN8DZC6?tag=vglnk-c102-20 RRA gun parts has them for approx. 50¢ each, but shipping is unknown. You can always call them. Or maybe someone here who has spares can drop one in an envelope for you. I would, but I don't have any. I'll be swapping out my ejection port door soon, so I'll be buying a bunch of spares. |

Any small town hardware store should have them, Fastenal used to be good, but most of them don't keep much of anything in stock anymore and want to order everything for you.
Also, I have had phenomenally good luck recently with parts counters at the farm implement dealerships. They seem to have a far better stock of parts than any auto parts or hardware stores I've come across. |

"1/8" low clearance c clips"
That gives me something to really look at when hitting some local hardware stores. I also see the ARFCOM store has them for .50 each...maybe time for more t-shirts... Thanks a ton for all the answers everyone! Happy New Year. Quoted:

| This is exactly why I have been a member of Brownells Edge program for the last two years. Besides the other perks, you get free shipping on every order regardless of the cost of the items ordered. It costs $49 a year, but I get that back several times over in saved shipping costs. Not to mention the savings on unneeded items I used to order just to be able to justify paying the shipping charge. |

hobby shops that sells RC cars have tons of little c-clips, I got an assortment bag with 35 different clips for $2
also FYI RRA shipping is a rip off, $29 to ship an upper to my brother, we live about 20 miles from the factory. he called to bitch and they told him that covered shipping and packaging! |
