I have a few of these and on a routine maintenance inspection I noticed there is no roll pin holding the buffer end cap on. Its not malfunctioning, but its something I noticed as odd. I cant see that it fell out, maybe the early ones had no roll pin? Any thoughts?
You can clearly see a roll pin here: http://www.spikestactical.com/lower-parts-spikes-stt2-heavy-buffer-p-201.html |

the roll pin for the trigger will work, but its just a bit shorter than the correct one. anyone have a source for these? I emailed spikes and am waiting on what they have to say, but im not holding my breath A lot of hardware and farm supply stores carry a selection of roll pins in the fastener section. It helps to have an example to match up with or the item in with you (if possible) because they come in many sizes. Here is a cheap set from H.F. http://www.harborfreight.com/120-piece-roll-pin-storehouse-67591.html |
