| i have a Stag carbine that i assembled from a stag lower and complete Stag upper. Everything is Stage except the stock/buffer assembly which i bought used. I think it was RRA but not sure. It is commercial and i am changing it out to a Milspec tube so it matches all my other rifle. I have used BCM parts in the past and will be using them again this time. I have a mil spec stock already so all i really need is the BCM milspec buffer tube. I could just replace the buffer tube and use the buffer and spring i have. But my concern is making sure the buffer and spring i have are good quality. Is there anything i should look for on the spring and buffer that i have to tell about its quality? Any tell tale good or bad things to look for in a spring or buffer? |

Check the length of the spring (10-1/16” to 11-1/4”) and replace it if out of spec.
Look at the surface finish, if it is rough like sandpaper I would toss it. I run CS springs as they are essentially good for the life of the weapon. Inspect the buffer for cracks or damage. |
