im going to purchase my first ar soon and am looking at the tlr-1 light. i thought oabout getting the rail mount that goes on each side of the front sight from i think its dpms. what do you guys think of that mount and mounting the light on the side. i see everyone mounts underneath most of the time and do not see anything on the mount on the front sight. give me some input everyone. the tlr-1 will be a nice piece to own since it will also fit my glocks.

I mounted mine under because I use a vert grip and it's easy to operate the light switch from there. Plenty use side mounts. Theres one that fits in the opening of the sight block, I think. I mounted a TLR2 on my M4. Works great and no weight to it. I run a TLR1 on my Glock.

I have two of the TLR1's. Very nice light. Great for pistols. You won't be disappointed.

I have one on my SBR'd 9mm shorty and I found that I like it mounted on the side better.

Check the EE - I've picked up 2 - 1 for $90 and another for $85 both barely used.

Does anyone know if streamlight is going to make a pressure switch for these?

I can't remember the post, but last week the same question was asked and "September" was the answer. I hope it is not that long.
