http://i715.photobucket.com/albums/ww157/deviant_golfer/P1030307.jpgok, this definitely is nothing that yall (god bless the south) havent seen, but so i dont get any of that "pics or its not real" sooo, this is my first black rifle, and couldnt be more excited! i am going shooting next week sometime for the first time, question is i got like a 150 dollar budget for upgrades, what do yall suggest. BESIDES AMMO AND MAGS, got quite a few, I was thinking an ACE Skeleton stock (no experience but love the way it looks) and a new grip, then start saving for rails after that.

Awesome!  A1 /  lightweight profile barrel?

Personally, I don't care for the ACE skeleton stock.  I'd prefer a SOPMOD for something like that.  Or, at just $150, a CTR which might be a tad too light for that length barrel.

Or, keep the A2 stock and go with the Magpul MIAD grip & a Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard.  Maybe a light (VTAC mount + Surefire LED + Falcon/Ergo short rail).  All of that would end up being less than or right at $150.

Or, keep it as is.  Shoot that badboy.

its actually A2 and i dont know if its lightweight or government or if theres even a difference.  haha still WAY new to this, it is a DPMS Lite 20 with a flattop upgrade and I am hitting up the fun show next weekend to get mags, got ammo. I am open to any stock options thats within reason in my price range.

With a limit of $150, I'd get a new sling setup... or just save a few hundred more and get an optic.

Unless it's mag and ammo, don't buy something just because you have money to spend.  Wait until you shoot it and see what you don't like about it.  After that work on replacing the things you don't like.

If you got a $150 burning a hole in your pocket pick up a SPOT 30mm dot sight with a 4 moa dot.  It comes with the mount (but it will fit in any 30m Aimpoint mount).  The sight is the most rugged inexpensive sight you will find.

Not to correct you Forest, but the SPOT actually comes in 3MOA or 6MOA.

$150 isn't enough to cover nice hardware like railed handguards (MI handguards start at $170)

I'd get a MIAD and a trigger guard for $50.  Save the rest of the money till you can afford an optic and handguard.

Check out Blue Force Gear.  A vickers with the buttstock adapter and front side sling swivel would work nice.

No problem, I have an earlier one and it's 4moa, I didn't realized they now offer more choices.

IMO, a weapon mounted white light gives you the most usable bang for the buck on a tight budget. Simple barrel mount or something similar.

And congratulations on your new rifle. Unfortunately, it's an addiction that can never be completely satisfied. You will always "need" one more accessory or black rifle.

Nice choice for a first.
My first AR was a DPMS. i like DPMS and have no issues with them.
You'll hear alot of Panther bashing on here but each to their own.
You'll have a blast with it and happy shooting! Dont get BRD...

Good point on the light.  IMHO a great choice for a carbine that is going to be used for defense.  I'm not so sure he's planning on using a 20" A2 stocked rifle for home defense.  If he is, then you've made the best suggestion.

A nice, solid Infantry rifle right there.

Shoot the hell out of it, Texas.
