i got stuck in the rain for a couple hours last night and was using my surefire e2d defender the whole time. it worked great the whole time, but on the way home is when it started giving me problems. it has the clicky tailcap and i know i turned it off but it started flickering. the brightness was less than the low setting. i made sure i turned it off and set it on my table and it started doing it again later in the night.
i took it apart to dry it out overnight and tried it this afternoon and now when i push the tailcap it flickers and wont stay on the setting i put it on. do i need to just dry it out some more? tried new batteries and it still does it. |

It sounds like you have the E2DL rather than the E2D. Have you try new batteries? Did it get wet inside? Do you have any other SureFires with a TailCap you can try? I agree its worth giving SureFire a call. it's the tailcap. Switched the head off my lx2 and it did the same thing. Yeah it's the led version. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I have had problems with 4 different Surefire tailcaps, all on different models. I'm royally pissed about the quality control, but at least they made it right by sending me new caps post haste.
It's hard to threaten to boycott them over Q/C when there is nobody else who makes that quality of a light. Fenix doesn't cut it for me... Also, if you email them on the weekend, that thing will be in the mail by Mon AM. |

Called them last week and before i could even finish stating the problem i was having they were asking for my address. I must say that the customer service they offer is top notch. Got it in the mail yesterday and it fixed my problem. They have a customer for life as long as they continue to offer quality stuff. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile I have had similar experiences twice with them, including with a C2 tailcap for a friend who managed to trash it OCONUS and gave it to me when I told him I could purchase a new one for him...he freely admitted fault...I told them it was his fault...free new metal C2 tailcap as fast as dammit no questions asked. SF fan here for certain! |
