I have an upper with a railed gas block (set screw) that I would like to replace with an MI or PRI low profile one so I can run a railed forend over it. Do I have to remove the gas tube or just the pin and swap????? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have never changed gas blocks before!!! |

The gas tube might just drop out when you remove the pin anyway so don't sweat it. It just slides into the upper reciever. ETA: Re-reading your post, you want to change your forearm also, so you will have to remove the gas tube when you change the barrel nut. There is a how-to in the tacked assembly thread above. |
