I purchaed an upper and lower , both empty, at the gunshow yesterday. Lower is and essential arms. I dont know what the upper is. How can I tell? Anyway, I put the pivot pin on the lower and attached the empty upper. I tried to put the takedpwn pin into lower but the hole that is in the upper seems not to line up with the lower. I used force to get it in and used force to get it out (punch). There was some wear/rubbing on the upper and lower section of the hole that was in the lower. Do I need to file the hole out? |

for the love of god don't file anything I guess you mean that the upper and lower you bought were stripped. Is the pivot pin hole on the upper and lower the same size? Some colt uppers have a larger diameter hole. To figure out who made the upper there should be foundry marks on it. They can look like letters, keyhole, etc. Posting pictures of the problem would also be helpful. |
