| Is the take down and the safety spring the same size? Is there a front and rear detent difference? |
I think the takedown springs are longer and tighter/narrower than the selector spring?
Are you missing a selector spring or are you just trying to tell them apart? If you need them, I personally think the best place to buy them is The Citizens Armory. They are $1 a piece and they are really cheap on shipping, maybe 75 cents. I suggest grabbing an extra takedown detent if this is your first time building since people often shoot the front detent across the room (I usually try to install it with the lower in a one gallon ziplock bag so it cannot fly away if it slips.) |
| i'mn a newbie and I either misplaced or didnt get one spring. Now looking at it everything functions like it should but not sure if i put everything right. I still havent put the front take down pin or the bolt release yet. Is the front take down pin longer then the rear? |

Yes the front pivot pin is a little longer than the rear takedown pin. The pivot (front) pin has a D shaped head and the rear pin is round.
The second and third post Here has great instructions and hints. I use the vise grip method for the bolt release catch as seen in the third reply A common mistake is backwards installation of the hammer spring. The gun will function check fine, but will have problems with light primer strikes once it is test fired.
When installed, the "legs" of the hammer spring come from the below the hammer pin and sit on top of the trigger pin.

both of my take down pins are the same size is that an issue? There are two pins that attach the upper to the lower, a front and rear. The rear is typically referred to as a takedown pin and the front is typically referred to as a pivot pin. They are different. |

The front pivot pin should be longer (unless you have some weird type of lower that uses different pins) and have more of a D shape. Can you take a pic of the pins and post it? |
