ok almost done with my first build, why wont the upper and lower receiver holes line up so i can press the takedown pin in the hole to finish my build?

If this is a Rock river lower they are real tight at the rear to make for a nice tight fit , you usually have to really press hard to get it in there. You may even have to sand the sides of the rear lug to get it in . Try installing the front pin first and lube the rear lug with CLP , then try to press it in .

ok new problem i hit it with clp and it went in now it wont come out hinking.gif

Lay it on it's side and use a soft punch to push the pin out, sometimes those detents have to round out for a smoother fit

A gunsmith hammer or rubber mallet and set of punches is a necessity! I had a few tight fits and sometimes you have to beat them in and out for a while.

ya i've found out on this project that i need some punches. did the whole thing with some klein needle nose linemans pliers and my swiss multi tool, guess thats 1 more thing to add to the shopping list for tomorrow.

the only real problem was the bolt release roll pin, a serious pain without a punch.
