Have you tried the trigger on an HK rifle?

I can't speak for BM, but most AR come from factory with triggers that leave a lot to be desired of.

Hence the pletora of aftermarket triggers.

They'll probably replace it with another standard trigger.

I have touched off a fair number of AR triggers, and some are heavier than others. Worst one was by far on a Sendra I tied. I swear, you;d think the safety was on... But 12lbs sounds like a little much. Around 8lbs is a little more common. I have felt standard stock triggers down to about 5lbs, but never any/much lighter than that really. If you have a problem with a heavy trigger, and I dont blame you at all, the one Bushmaster will likely replace it with probably wont excite you either. Consider upgrading to a Accuracy Speaks trigger. At the very least, you could probably get one of JP Enterprises yellow trigger springs. That will probably lighten things up quite noticably.

The vast majority of ARs from all companies come with standard military triggers, which are in the 8 lb. range.  These triggers are very reliable, even under harsh conditions, but obviously they aren't match triggers.  If a match trigger is what you want, you'll need to buy one.
