I cant really say building because I plan on using complete or mostly complete uppers and lowers. My question is the difference in quality between a stag and a bushmaster as great as the difference in price? (for a complete lower, that is) I'm looking at 280 for complete stag with collapsing stock, or 270 for a bushmaster with no stock. |
Comparing Stag to Bushmaster, from what I have seen... I'd take either/or... and put them in the same quality bucket. On a complete lower.... www.ameetecarms.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11&zenid=e589793f079ab7ea6291ead0f79386f1 |
| I would go with whichever one was the least expensive, as I would put both companies quality on about the same level. Since the Stag is only 10 dollars more and come with a stock I would go with the Stag. The only difference really between Stag and Bushy is that Stag uses mil spec buffer tubes. |

Del-Ton has the complete lower receiver, with collapsible buttstock for $225: Del-Ton |
There are more differences than that. Bushy lowers are closer to the M16 spec and can run a DIAS, where the stag's from CMT have the high shelf and cannot. Bushy uses 4150 (milspec) barrel steel, while Stag uses 4140 (unless they have changed). These differences are minute, however, and shouldnt be the basis for a decision in most cases. |
