i have a 5.7 upper that came with their 8.2 ounce buffer. being in a ban state i use one preban lower for all my uppers.

will using a heavy buffer cause any ill effects. I ran 20 rounds through my newly built 16" adams arms carbine using this buffer and everything ran smooth except 3 rounds not going all the way into battery. hitting the forward assist quite hard made the rounds fully chamber.

I would like to not have to change buffers out per upper, but will do it if necessary.

I'm planning to do the same thing except I will swap out my AR57 with a S&W M&P 5.45x39 upper.
I'm thinking with the hot gassing of the commie round this might help.

I'm curious to replies to you question.

CAR buffer works for this. Some have used H buffers also.
