Is the trigger guard roll pin anything normal that I can get locally?  I need to remove it from the lower to install a Magpul trigger guard.  Im worried Im gonna royally mess this pin up removing it.  I've already semi-mushroomed one end upon initial installation and now that it has to be removed and then REinstalled...well, you get the idea.  Wondering if I can get a pin locally as opposed to ordering one online and paying shipping, the wait time, yadda yadda, you know the routine.

So,
is it available?
what is the roll pin size?

Thanks in advance from a self-educating "newb" of sort.

Good luck on removing it.  To be honest. I never have.  Size can be found here.

Please use a proper punch and support the "ears" of the receiver properly.

Or else your next thread will be about how one of the ears/tabs broke off and where can I get a grip that covers up this problem.

Good luck and be careful.

oh man, that anxiety thing again huh?  I was real nervous about installing the standard trigger guard to begin with, now I gotta worry about removing the pin and installing yet another.  argh!!  I supported the ears on a roll of tape for installation and will probably do the same this time around.

Should the ears be supported as well while REMOVING a pin?  I would think so, but is it as important?

I had to hammer the hell out of mine. I used a 1/8" punch and made sure the ears were always supported with the trigger guard between the ears and a piece of wood underneath... nice and snug with no play.
