Setting up a longer range AR, meaning I would like to use it for varmitts and paper punching out to 400 yards.  I am sending a RRA 2 stage trigger to be worked on.  What would you guys have the pull weight adjusted down to?????

I was figuring around 3lb, but in speaking with a guy last night he said that on these types of guns (meaning typically stationary shooting with a bipod) they will set triggers down to 1lb....  Does that sound right?

I appreciate your thoughts,

1lb is really really light.

I'd leave it at 3.5lb and above.

1lb triggers, maybe for competition only but not real world use...

A 1lb trigger pull is on the order of a mouse click (maybe even less).

3.5 lbs is already very very light.  I say leave it as it is mainly for safety reasons.

I like 3.5# but I could live with it down to 2-2.5# for ONLY long distance shooting... 1# would have to be a single stage or it would be unusable for me.

1# seems pretty light for an AR

I got a 3# and think its just right

i like the stock 3.5# trigger that came on my RRA flattop carbine.  It is a very short trigger pull and i would not want it any lighter.  I have shot ar's with 2# and 1.5# triggers and i did not like them.  Aside from the obvious safety risks, i shoot more consistent groups with a bit stiffer pull.
