i'm planning to install a two stage trigger in an ar-15 varmint rifle.  the current trigger breaks at 6 lbs. and i loathe it.  it's a Colt CAR with the factory stainless 24" barrel.  i have added weight to the A-2 stock and it comes in around 16 lbs.  i use triggers adjusted to around 2 lbs. in my bolt guns unless they are for hunting in which case i climb to around 3 or 4 lbs.  is there a safety issue, or does two pounds sound light for an ar-15 used on prairie dogs.  i'm wondering if i should play it safe and go with a 3 lb. trigger or what?

any experience would be greatly appreciated.

your thoughts???

thanks,

Michael

You might try a Williams Set Trigger.  It will be about 4-5 pounds regular and about 1.5 pounds when set.  You would have to send your lower to him for installation in E. Central Illinois.
