would like to use coiled roll pins on some builds,  anyone know what size the trigger guard and the gas block pin are . I dont know the fact that they are coiled whether you have to undersize them or not, thank you

Can't help you with the gas block but the trigger guard is 0.125 x 0.625. How do I know? I sold a bunch of SS coiled pins on the EE. Don't have anymore to sell but I did save a few for myself.

The bolt catch pin is 0.094 x 0.500
Forward Assist pin is 0.094 x 0.625

I bought them at McMaster in bulk,

Just order some from RRA, they work great.

I don't think RRA has coiled pins for the gas block though.

Just order your LPK from a vendor that ships spiral roll pins with their LPKs such as Spikes Tactical.

Spikes is NOT DPMS
My Spikes LPK from about a 1-1/2 years ago shipped with spiral roll pins.

Copy that.

Check with Spikes or RRA and see if they will send you just the spiral roll pins that you need.
I did that once and rec'd damn near a full LPK @ no charge !

pardon my ignorance, but is there any benefit to using coiled roll pins opposed to regular c ones?

They go in much easier.

I've been using coiled stainless spring pins in my builds for the past few years without an issue. I never recycle pins. Once they come out they get replaced with fresh. Much better assembly experience than using slot/split roll pins.

Roll pins are like cotter pins, one time use only. I suppose you can reuse them if you had to, but if you have the option... don't. Coil pins are stronger than split pins, now there isn't a lot of stress riding on the what, 2 roll pins (bolt catch and trigger guard) on an AR? But if given the option, I'll always opt for the better of the two.

Give us a ring. Ask for John. Most of the pins we use are coiled 18-8 stainless steel and we micropolish them.

We've been making and sourcing our own LPK parts for 2-3 years now.

the reason i said what i did was the LPK i purchaces from Spikes had c/split pins if i remember right, the LPK was rough to get installed, i had to hammer the crap out of the roll pins to get them in the AR15.com lower receiver, along with other issues i ran into. it was VERY DPMS like, not saying it was, but it seemed very similiar. i believe you guys produce very high quality parts. the Uppers i have and have seen in use ALWAYS work, i run the T2 in every carbine i own. but the standard LPK and the Battle Trigger were below par in my lowly opinion, i have assembled MANY lower receivers and have always had great luck, being a technician, i enjoy assembling my own toys, i have assembled quit a few lowers for the Augusta area guys and another site member watched with all the "hoops" we had to jump through to make the LPK work. i'm sure this was a one in million situation, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. You did offer a refund roughly a month later after i e-mailed Spikes. hopefully others will have better luck than me

What size pins are used for the lower kits?
