Anyone ever used the versapod on an M16 or M4?  I would have been looking at this vs. a harris bipod.  I can't decide if it is a good idea or just cheesy :)

So I take it that not a single person here owns a versapod, much less has used one???

I've got a VersaPod that uses an adapter that clips on to the bayonet lug.  It has it's pluses and minuses-
+ mounts fast and easy
- need bayo lug
+ pivots
- rifle not too steady on it's own, can fall over
-  loose mounting, bipod is loose when carrying rifle

The versa pod will also fit a standard sling mount pin.

I like my Harris bipods more!

dito and it's tall so it may cause your rifle to fall over if it's not supported.
the harris has spring extending feet.  not a big deal until you start using them.  then its a have to have

Not to mention, it looks as if it weights a ton, Harris "S" model is my choice.
