search results didnt turn up anything, so....

Anybody have one on a carry handle? Reviews online seem like its a very good budget red dot scope. I'm thinking about getting one for my Colt AR-15 fixed carry handle but didnt know what kind of mounting rail to use as well. And do i want high mount or low mount if i wanna also co-witness?

If mounting on a Flat top get the high mount for absolute co witness. I had a red dot on my carry handle it worked OK but I ended up changing out to a flat top much better. My strikefire has been great for over two years no it's not an AimPoint but I used the extra money for ammo.

I have the strikefire and love it. The extra-high mount will cowitness on flat-top ARs, and the low mount will cowitness on carry handle ARs.

I have one and the only complaint is the on/off button is too easy to switch on when bumped.  I have gone to the range several times and it was one when I took it out of the case.

Save your money and get an Aimpoint. Then you will not be worrying about bumping switches, parts falling off, or battery life.

Parts falling off? Never heard of that being a problem...

IMO, it's hard to justify optics being almost as expensive as the rifle... Especially if it's not a work rifle.

Strike fire will serve you well.  Don't get caught up in the Aimpoint vs what ever debate.   If you have any sense you should know the aimpoint is a battle proven optic and if you use it for your job then you should buy an aimpoint.  If you shoot your gun at the range for sport etc.   The strikefire will serve you well.   I know many people with both optics including myself and I have not had any issues with things falling off my strikefire nor the aimpoint.  I have abused the strikefire that is for sure.    +  Vortex gives you a lifetime no BS warranty should it ever fail for "any reason"

The Vortex StrikeFire will come with the mount if it is new and it is really solid and sturdy....I could never get all of the bolts to go flush but it held very well.  I owned one and it was a great addition to the rifle.  Accurate, easy to zero, held zero well....there was a lot to like about it.  The only real complaint I have is that the "doubler" really narrows your field of view and IMO is worthless and makes the optic less utilitarian.  The dot will have a pretty noticeable starburst effect if you are in low light with the brightness turned up but i don't think the $500 to get an Aimpoint is worth it unless you are using it in life or death situations regularly (in fact a SWAT member that works part time at my local gun store uses a StrikeFire on his service rifle).  i have since moved to an EOTech set up but if I buy a backup AR I will go with the Vortex for sure.  You can't really beat it for the price.

Cool, thanks guys, picked up one at Cabelas this weekend. I also got a Z style forward mounting rail and plan on mounting it in front of the carry handle. Anybody have it mounted that way?
