was looking at the nikon prostaff 3-9 x40 but i guess i really dont need that much magnification.
are there any good sights i can mount on my m4 that will have say like 1-4 or something close to that? im going to be hunting javelina and maybe some coyote. so not looking for something TOO fancy. |

I own 4 ProStaff scopes, Two 3-9x40, Two 2-7x32. There great scopex for the money.
3-9x40 is a good all around power and perfect for what your talking about using it for. Better to have magnification that you won't use than wishing you'd bought a different scope, just sayin... |

I had a Simmons Pro Diamond for a while. It was made for a shotgun, but worked well on my AR. My son took it over for his Ruger Charger. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=6340048 |

You don't give a price range.
You said "nothing too fancy" I'll interpret that as "nothing expensive" Bushnell trophy 1-4x, 30mm tube, illuminated german 4A retcile with 100 MOA total adjustments about 150 bucks, I bought one at Academy. Millet DMS-1 1-4x 30 mm tube, circle dot illuminated reticle, basically the same scope as above with a different reticle, can be had from SWFA in the SSALT mount for about 270. Konus M30 1-4x 30mm tube illuminated standard reticle (blue illumination) for about 219 from MidwayUSA. You will need either the SSALT or PEPER mount, unless you want to go big money for a Larue or something similar. Another good deal is the Mueller Multi-shot 2-7x illuminated dot scope, about 130 bucks. The aforementioned Weaver 1-3x is an excellent scope, but if you are hunting piggies at night, you may want an illuminated reticle. |
