Okay once every two hundred rounds or so, I'll get a case that sticks in the chamber.  Could this be from a weak extractor spring? or possibly an out of specs extractor itself?

Anyone ever have this probelem

Could be!

I started having extraction problems after about 3000+ rounds. Quite a few of those rounds fired were Wolf Steel cased ammo, which I believe wore out my extractor. A new RRA extractor fixed the problem.

I no longer shoot steel cased ammo. Extraction problems can come from, a dirty chamber, worn extractor, weak extractor spring or shooting 5.56mm ammo in a barrel chambered for .223, these are just a few of the most common problems.

I would start by cleaning the chamber with a chamber brush, inspect and clean the extractor and if necessary order a new extractor, insert and spring and go from there.

Edited to add: Have you inspected the case rims of the rounds that stick in the chamber when you have a FTE? If a portion of the case rim is torn away from the case then the extractor is probably doing it’s job and something inside the chamber is holding the case from extraction. But......since this happens at the frequency you mention it sounds like a dirty or worn extractor or weak spring/insert!

Drop in a new spring and insert, its only a few bucks, and it should fix it.
