Okay I am a newbie and I am totally confused by some terminology. If you look at model 1 website they have varmint kits, dissapator kits, commando kits, etc. And what is a C.A.R. Kit. Different companies have different setups and names. What the heck does all this mean?
I'm just wondering if each type was spec'd for a particular use. I assume the varmint models are for more accuaracy at a longer distance and not as favorable for CQB. But are these terms specific to model one or is it something industy wide? |

Look at the pictures and you will start to figure the things out. Basically it's something like this.
Varmint, perhaps a heavy barrel, free float handguard, probably A3 flattop with no front sight for optics dissipator, 16" barrel with full size handguards (front sight way up front) CAR typically 16" carbine barrel, most likely carbine (short) gas system. From there you can find all sorts of variants, M-4, mid length yadda, yadda, yadda |
