Hi, all –

I notice that some of the AR parts dealers sell three different CAR buffers: regular, heavy and extra heavy.

How does one decide which is appropriate for a given build? Does it depend on the cartridge you're using, or is it just personal preference?

Thanks...

If you do a search there have been several threads on this topic in the past two weeks.

I did find this:

http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=376890

Which has a very nice table at the end, except it doesn't seem to include the 6.8 SPC. Is there another thread that you were thinking of?

Thanks...

OK, well part of the problem is that I can't search back more than 30 days.

Do you have an answer to my question, or would you prefer that I continue to grope with the search tool?

I'm gonna just stick my neck waaaaaay out here, and say that I bet a great many of the threads on this board have the word "buffer" in either their subject or body of the thread.

I would like to know the answer to this question too if anyone would care to answer it...

If you are looking for info specifically for a 6.8, you may want to try in the AR Variant forum. And if you pony up the team member fee you can search back 3 months.

I really doubt being sarcastic will get you a lot of help in either forum. Try contacting Forrest (moderator w/ 6.8 Inside for an avatar) and he should be able to steer you toward the right buffer. It might also help if you put 6.8 in your subject.

Thanks for the information. And...my last comment, while admittedly pointed, was not sarcastic. The other poster twice chose to chide me for my inability to find what I was looking for. He seemed more interested in putting me through some paces than in answering my question. I grew tired of it, and that was the reason for my response.

Thanks again for the help.
