Which bolt would you choose? Dennys new thunder bolt bcg or an RRA chrome bolt,the price is about the same.

Chrome was the BCG finish specified in the TDP by the designer of the platform, Eugene Stoner.
Chrome does for the BCG what it does for the barrels bore. Resists wear,corrosion, erosion, increases lubricity. Any "easier cleaning" is merely a side effect of hard chromes slipperiness. |

Just to chime in......when you add the BCG to your cart at Denny's, ANOTHER 10% comes off the price. They are on sale for $107.96. Now THAT is a great deal on a solid BCG. I ordered one, just to have another spare around. I have always bought LMT or BCM bolt carrier groups, but for $108 I will have to give the "nod" to Denny. Denny always makes great stuff, he never sacrifices quality on anything he builds. |
