I have a brand new dpms upper and have heard people dislike them. But it is what it is. I have a colt bolt ordered, should I switch bolts from the one on the dpms upper to the colt or is the stock just fine?

I would run the DPMS bolt and see how it goes. If it works, then I wouldn't change it. Some would say because it isn't Mil-Spec or properly tested then it's no good. The proof is in the performance. If it works out then the Colt bolt can be the basis for another rifle. Trust me it will happen. I bought one AR and subsequently two more and I have another halfway complete.
