I'm about to purchase a left-handed Stag upper. I'm considering the 6.8 SPC caliber just to have something different. Can someone list the pro's and con's of this caliber? Thannks, Matt.

.223 would be nice beacause of the expence of 6.8 ammo, but if you are only going to shoot every once and a while, i would go with what you want.  the best thing with the AR, is if you want another caliber, just build or buy a new upper in said caliber, and walla...  you have to guns...  thats what i am doing....

5.56X45  $75.00 for $200 new rounds  or 7.62x51mm $269 for 500 rounds both easy to find and cheaper

I have two other AR's already. An SP-1 from the early seventies and a Bushmaster carbine. This is my first build. I already built the lower. It's an Ameetec with a collapsible stock. I figured since I am left-handed and I already have two other ar's, I'd try a lefty. And while I'm at it, maybe make it the 6.8.

Kinda sad how we now consider those prices "cheap."  Kinda like I get excited now when gas drops below $3 a gallon.
