| I have a DPMS sweet 16 with the stainless bull barrel and was thinking of putting a comp on it to help hold the barrel down and if it would help to redierect the noise forward would be a plus, any suggestions? |

The Phantom 2 suppressors from Bushmaster are great. http://www.bushmaster.com/products.asp?cat=8 |

Is it threaded? Compensators make the noise come to you. The gas blows backwards to push the gun forwards. Some are worse than others. I just started this thread today. It's a work in progress. Preferred Flash Hider / Muzzle Break / Compensator |

Here is a YHM Phantom comp on a DPMS 16" bull barrel for reference. Not as loud as I expected compared to a normal FH. |

The Miculek is pretty effective, maybe not the absolute best, but pretty darn good. And it's cheaper than the others. I've tried several. I tried one of the TTi Eliminator, and it's probably over-effective, in that the barrel actually dips in recoil, which is an effect I really don't care for. It's also horribly loud.
All comps are louder than plain barrels or flash hiders. Not to be used without hearing protection! The DNTC comp is probably the quitest, but it's also one of the least effective. |
