i'm building a 16" rifle with a flat top and I can't decide on a front gas block.  should I use a 4 rail gas block or get an A2 front sight?   i will be using an aimpoint most of the time, but i'll also use my lmt rear buis and a detachable front sight if i go with the 4 rail gas block.  i've looked through all the builds on the forum and I can't decide which to get.  someone bitch smack me in the right direction.  thanks.

An A2 is more trouble free.  The railed gas block is more versitile.  I don't like hanging a bunch of stuff on the gas block though, so I don't really like the four railed versions very much.  I should be able to get all of the rail real estate on the handguards if it is that important.

PropDoc,

Whis is more solid of a mount on the barrel, Clamp or set-screw type?

I prefer and stock the clamp-on ones.
The setscrews are more hassle than they are worth unless you happen to have a barrel with the proper flats already cut in it.
