Not trying to be rude, but neither.

My wife spent money close to those ranges for a Truglo 2x42 reddot, and I wish I would have told her to save her money, or give it to me as a gift, and just bought an eotech, aimpoint, etc.

You will soon learn those are 90+ bucks down the drain when you decide to buy something more dependable than a clone or cheap scope.  Just my $.02

Best of luck though, work on sighting in your iron sights.

I agree with Clean...if you have to have one then get the Primary Arms...STAY AWAY FROM NCSTAR!

It looks like you price range is $150...that's too low for a decent optic.  Save up some more and pick up a EoTech 511 on the EE for around $250 or get a Weaver V-3 1-3X24 optic for $160 + mount ...for the price these are hard to beat.

Cant really comment on the NC Star since I don't own one.

I do own a Primary Arms  M3 clone w/ 3x mag and have been really impressed, It holds zero, glass is clear, its made of metal and does not feel or look cheap, just read the reviews. For a range gun it is probably one of the best values out there and Marshall ships things out super fast too. That being said if you are using your gun in life or death situations buy a real Aimpoint,

Nor are you allowed to own one in NYC...lol...Be carefull.

Also be careful mentioning NC Star around here....These guys are full of great info but seem to frown upon people with budgets. I dont own either but can add this much: Lots of negative opinions on NC star however, most of those opinions are from people that never owned one. There are a few people here that have used them for range guns and have not had any bad results. As far as Primary Arms are concerned, It seems that a lot of people on this site think highly of their products as well as their service.

Dont let the "buy an ACOG or die" guys get to you. Buy what suits you. FWIW...I bought a knock-off eotech for $65 just to mess around with and I wound up LOVING it.
