I want to buy a variable scope for a cmmg 16" mid length. will the front sight interfere with the scope or do i need to raise the scope to clear? i saw a pic with one mounted "raised" and looks like it would be hard to shoot. thanks for any help.

I have a 3-9X40 Leupold scope on an AR with standard front sight.  The scope is on a 1.40" high mount which puts the scope centerline at the same height as the iron sights, so the front sight is dead center in the scope field of view––physically.  At 3X magnification and higher, the front sight is absolutely invisible in the scope field of view.  No shadow, no nothing.  Others have reported a "shadow" at lower magnification, but not with this scope.
