At a local gun shop I very carefully looked over inside and out, a W.W. Carbine like yours .
IMHO it was equal to or greater than the old school Bushmasters in regards to quality of fit, finish and relative lack of tool marks.

I think you done good.

For the good of the order please post a range report if time permits.

the fit and finish is flawless. there is no wiggle in the upper and lower or in the stock. it came with an m-16 carrier. i will post a range report when i get a chance to take it to the range on the farm possibly tomorrow.

Someone said they saw one in Wal Mart. Sounds like they are pretty much the same materials/parts as the old Bushmasters. I got the worst parts kit I have seen in my life out of the Maine Bushmaster crew towards the end of their run so I don't see hiring the same folks back is going to result in great rifles if they don't know an out of spec spring or even a squished and unusable pistol grip when they see one.

I had good luck with my old Bushie though

Saw my first ones this week. Not impressed. With ACE stock the gun store was asking $930. Tried to open one rifle. We needed a hammer and wood dowel. I hate AR's that need tools to open. No markings on the bolt I saw. A shiny finish is no substitute for quality, especially in todays market. I have had mixed results with Bushmasters in the past so I am wary of their rifles.

I like the look of the muzzle brake and will see if I can find that by itself.

ETA: The rifle also had a ARMS #71 plastic front sight mounted on the gas block. Not sure I trust that to hold up.

my bushy carbine was also impossible to open, even after taping it open hundreds and hundreds of time it never loosened.

put that upper on another lower, and it opens fine.  my new BCM upper on this lower, and it opens fine.  makes no sense whatsoever.
