just needing some opinions about shooting wolf ammo
with stainless barrel. I have a loather wather barrel and have
been told by a few people to resist buying wolf, but the price difference
is very tempting.

                                    thanks for the input...

It's just plinking ammo.

It's not accurate or completely reliable in everyone rifle.

Don't worry about those that say it will ruin your chamber because it's steel cased, the steel used in the case is very soft.  It may or may not do hell on your extractor though.

Your barrel sounds like it is a mtch grade barrel, likely with a match grade chamber. IF it is it will have tighter tollerances than a standard chamber. Wolf ammo is about the least expensive ammo you can purchase, and is therefore among the most inconsistenly sized and charged ammo I am aware of. In addition, the coating on the steel case has had a tendency to stick in many chambers, a tigher chamber like yours will make this potential even greater. I predict problems.

The actual problem is the case does not seal the chamber very well and a lot of carbon gets caked in the chamber.

As far as shooting it, I do and there is not a reason that I wouldn't.  The accuracy isn't what you will want it to be out of a barrel like that.  I run it in my M4 so I don't worry about accuracy.  Prvi Partizan ammo is farily cheap and from my experiences it is more accurate than wolf.

When your friends want to shoot a few rounds, thats when you shoot wolf.

Wolf is dirty, it stinks, but it does work. I won't have a carbine that won't feed Wolf. I may need it some day.

i just shot 150 flawless, accurate rounds of wolf out of my Stag-15 this morning.  I like wolf.

I hate it.  Mainly because it smells like shit and I stand on the wrong side of my rifle.

Its weaker than other ammo, so you may have cycling issues, especially if you're using a heavier buffer.

Its also filthy.

IMO using wolf in a thousand dollar rifle is like using regular unleaded in a side-oiler 427.  Yeah, it'll run.  But it'll run better on premium.

I can see most people responding might not know much about match chamber barrels like the SS Loather the OP has.

thanks for all the input, I think I'll get a few boxes and try it out.
I'll probably buy a case of brass ammo. I've recently purchased
a rcbs reloader and trying to learn to reload so the brass should pay
off in the long run.
                                   Thanks again
                                       shoot em up

I have shot Wolf in my ArmaLite M15A2NM without any problems.

Friday I was shooting my A1 across a small canyon (ranged at 480yds) at some rocks in the slide area and made 80% hits using Wolf 55gr FMJ.   No scope , just KY Aimpoint....

If thats just for plinking I wouldn't want to be plinked on by someone using Wolf....
