I was wondering at what distance I should zero my M3.  I know that a great deal depends on what the intended use is, so here goes; mainly for plinking/occasional jack rabbit etc.  distances no further than 100-200yds.  My dilema is that I also want to use it for home defense, but since I don't expect to be fending off bad guys everyday I would prefer to try and find some middle ground for zeroing the optic.  That way I am not making constant adjustments to/for different applications.  I know there maybe many different variables to consider, some I probably haven't thought of.  Any info. would be appreciated.

Assuming this is on an AR, zero at 50 yards. This will put you POI within  + - 2.5" of POA from touching to about 220 yards. It's call the improved battlesight zero and was developed by Lt. Col Santose.
