Ive been out of archery for a while and I've been thinking about getting back into it. It will give me more options for hunting, I can shoot at my house, and with the craziness in the gun world I could use a break.

First of all, I've got a good idea of the bow I want. A friend has a Carbon Element, and I can't get over the looks. So I'm thinking Bowtech with it being an Oregon company. My real question comes down to the current accessories. Who makes the best stuff these days? Like sights, rests, releases, arrows, broad heads?

Opinions are like assholes but here goes....

Take a look at QAD ultra series of rests. Its a full capture, drop away that's great for the hunter.
For sights, I just bought spot hogg 3-pin bulletproof sight. Its bright, all metal, rugged as hell and has a lifetime warranty.
spot hogg also makes a damn fine release. Can't think of the name but its a hook style wrist model and the trigger feels like a damn Timney! Best I've ever used but itisn't cheap. Bout $120 if I remember right.

Hope this helps.

The QAD drop away rests are awesome.

The B-stingers are killer stabilizers that put the weight out where it needs to be.

I love my Axion sight. They make good stuff.

As far as the bow, go shoot every single one that interests you. That's really the only way.

I use a ripcord rest because the ultra rest won't fit on my bow. But if I could, ultra rest.

My next bow will be wearing an ultra rest, fuse stabilizer, and a 5 pin Axcel sight. It will shoot Easton carbon injexion arrows tipped with rage  hypodermics.

I agree it's mostly a matter of personal preference. For sights I recommend getting one with thumbscrews, much nicer then sliding it around. As to brand and model, unless it's a bottom end sight I don't know that I would care all that much. There seems to be a consensus building for the QAD and I'm not going to stop it. Best rest I've ever used. Arrows are another place where give me anyone's correctly spined carbon and I really wouldn't care; however I'm not a target shooter and my 3D shooting is just hunting practice so I don't really care if I get a 10 or an 11. Broadheads, I prefer a cut on contact head, brand - I use Muzzy's but I wouldn't care if you told me I had to use any of the major players fixed head. I shoot a back tension release even for hunting so I'm a bit of an oddball there.
