What is a good broadhead for black bear? My grandpa has told me the zwickys black diamonds or some other solid point would be my best bet. This is my first year bow hunting and i got 3 bears on the trail cam yesterday so im hoping to score.

I used a Rage 100 grain 2 blade to kill a sow 2 years ago. You dont need a stronger broad head for bear...I had a pass through with 60 lb draw. They die really fast if you double lung them...any good deer broadhead will work fine. Do NOT aim for the shoulder, its like a plate of armor that no broadhead will break through.

Where did you hit it at with the rage? I was just concerned with breaking a smaller blade off.

I have killed four bears with Wac'ems, they are a great head. Bottom line is, bears are easy to kill, and don't go far if you are accurate.

I double lunged it....I feel it's the only safe bet since pinpointing the heart in all that hair can be confusing. Their rib cage is the same as a deer so you really won't have to worry about the broadhead.
