I've seen these before. How much did that one run.....how does it perform.....wieght? I like it! Maybee it'll be my next. |

The 5.56 round is extra lethal because it tumbles in flight. This allows it to kill civilians as it crashes through buildings. Special green tipped ammo used by coalition forces is heatseaking and goes for the heads of its victims, mainly children.

It's not AP. It is tracer from SG.

So did I Nice Looking Rifle. Actually all you guys have beautiful looking 50's. One of these days it would be nice to hook up with some of you and throw a bunch of 50 cal lead downrange. |

Nice bennyjammin! mine is the M99 a couple of post up called Blondie. What made you decide to get the M99? |
||
|
hakim- I bought it because IMO it's one of the best looking 50s on the market. I love the trigger pull, build quality/finish, accuracy, and low recoil. It's not a heavy pig compared to some 50s, and the bullpup design keeps it relatively compact. The package deal is a good value that comes with top-notch stuff (scope rings, excellent foam lined case, rugged bipod, cleaning kit, and good starter scope). Lastly, when I shot my friend's M99, I knew I had to have one. Yours looks great-- do blondes really have more fun? And since this is a picture thread, I'll keep this post on topic: |

Damn dude, did you shoot that thing over the berm in Central Park with a schoolhouse and an airport behind it in the middle of the day? Geez, isn't that one of the 4 cardinal rules of firearm safety?
Actually, it is interesting how soon the tracer lights off after the end of the barrel. I heard that those wouldn't light up until 300m so so... Good pic. |

So whats the propane bottle and fire extinguisher for? ahhahahahahahahhaJK, those are fun with blue-tips. |

When I got to the range at dusk there were a few people still shooting. I fully intended to wait until everyone left, but most wanted to stick around to watch. I did get video, but don't have it on this comp. Pretty neat when hit by API |

Jconnet,
What kind of scope is that, and how long was your wait time? I am about to go ahead and put money down on one and was wondering how you like it (please let us know when you shoot it!) Thanks |
|
|
I got lucky and snagged one on the EE for a pretty good deal. There would have been about a 10 month wait if I had bought new. The scope is a Millett 4-16x 56mm, 30mm tube mildot that a fellow 50 shooter recommended to me after using one on his rifle. Seems like a pretty good scope for under $250. Would have gone with a SS but I didn't really want a fixed mag. I will be doing mostly 200 yard and under shooting. (Lots of trees in NJ ) |

Jconnet-

nice rifle! i'm glad to see you join the club. you better ante up $40 for the fcsa now. it is money well spent if you believe you have plenty yet to learn. i'm a genuine when it comes to the 50 and i've learned a great deal from some really nice guys. the site can be as general or specific as you wish and all points in between.
if they have a shoot in illinois we should both go sometime so we can shake hands! kind of half way for both of us! again, congrats. i hope you enjoy every minute of it! -ST13 |

?? Not sure really. My family owns a steel yard and it was something that was just layin around. It's 1 1/4" plate. The holes around the outside make me think it bolts up to something... but what that something is I do not know. It's about 18" in diameter. Fun as hell to shoot at though... |

my 2 piece TAPERED NightForce scope base arrived today.... for my McBrosTac50... where should i put the thicker one? front near the barrel or the other way around?
please help. thanks |
|
|
Im pretty sure the thicker one should go in the rear, thus canting your scope downward. This will give you more elevation adjustment should you be really reaching out there. ETA - And it's a pic thread... so post a pic when you get it mounted! |
||
|
thank you very much for the reply. surely iam going to post pics once i have set-up....
my scope will be a SS20x and max50 rings. the nearest available range would be a 100m, will i be able to zero my mcbros 50 with this set-up? <thin forward, thick rear base> please help. thanks |
