I carry mine broken down in a Maxpedition Sitka gearslinger. It does scream tactical, but it's small enough that it doesn't advertise the contents.

I've got more mundane-looking bags it could go in, but I like this one.

Perfect.

I use this for range trips, not for carrying around town. 9" AAC MPW upper. Suppressor shifts around in there, but you can't expect too much from a $3 thrift store find..

No, it would tell me you almost certainly have a gun, and possibly two or more. I know it, everyone reading this knows it, 98% of ARFcom knows it, and 97% of bad guys willing to commit more than robbery (and who aren't currently tweaking) know it and recognize it.

But it works for you; great.

ETA: And BTW, a friend has (or had) one. He carried it basically the same as you. And we all then knew he had two (or more) guns on him. While sheeple are sheeple, bad guys willing to commit up close and personal crimes aren't total morons. They may be lazy, lying, untrustworthy scum, but it would be unwise to assume they are unaware.

Personally, I'm not a fan. It just looks too out of place to be "discreet"

But relevant to the thread nonetheless.

Sure, maybe to "people in the know". That represents a very small pool of people in the population. The majority of sheeple out there are oblivious enough to their surroundings that they wouldn't take any extra notice of an actual rifle case, much less a "discreet" case. Personally I prefer to have rifle, mags and some extras secured firmly, yet accessible inside of a purpose built bag. To each his own though.

I will never understand the appeal of buying a dedicated "concealed rifle" case from Noveske or others, for like $150+, when they still pretty much look like gun cases to anyone in the know, and an Umbro gym bag or Jansport backpack are like $20 at Walmart.

Most people are generally clueless. I had a lady ask me if I was going golfing, and pointed in the direction of my hard side tan double rifle case that says "GUN GUARD" on the side of it.

She got quite the shock when the check-in clerk asked me to open it so they could verify the weapons were clear, and my AR, G19, S&W 642, ten or twelve mags total, and a several hundred rounds of ammo were all out in the open.

I like this one very much.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=hGF-Ede6ZPk

http://www.sneakybags.com/store/SPYDER_Covert_Carry_Bag

Fits this rifle just fine.

ST Compressor - 8.1" barrel.  556 or 300BLK

http://www.spikestactical.com/st-compressor-sbr-556-nfa-p-491.html

I swapped out CTR stock with the LWRC ultra compact and the LWRC dual ambi sling mount.  Also, set it up for close in work with an Aimpoint T1, Surefire M300B, and LDI DBAL I2.  The rig measures 24.5" OAL and 8 lbs 12 oz in fieldable condition.

I really like the combination of the LWRC Ultra Compact stock on the short suppressed Compressor.  It really seems to fit that package and allows it to fit in the short Sneaky Bag with room to spare.  It has become my grab and go rifle package when travelling.  I can keep a small EGL VOCR-2 chest rig, med gear plus cleaning kit & tools in a very compact footprint.

I thought that FL concealed carry permit is a concealed weapon permit and that it does allow carry of rifles. It has been 15 years since I had a FL concealed carry permit, so my memory on this is a bit rusty.

The only thing that I don't understand about this is that I have seen many people in FL ask about these bags, but at least in FL, even with a CCW it is illegal to conceal carry an SBR.

  Not sure what that means.

You're saying that transporting an SBR in a discreet case is illegal, or that attempting to conceal an SBR on your person is illegal in FL?

If it's the former, I'm pretty sure there's nothing illegal about it. If its the latter, don't know any reasonable way to accomplish that in the 1st place.

He's saying that you could not go walking into a walmart with an SBR in a bag like you could a pistol inside the waistband.
It's ok to and from auto from house, or range, friends house, your private business, etc...

There's a difference between a Concealed Handgun License (or Permit) and Concealed Weapon Permit. I have a UT CWP which covers machetes, batons, tasers, etc but my OR & AZ permits only cover handguns. I can open carry a rifle or shotgun in OR but I'm not sure about a SBR & don't want to test the waters..

I'm just getting the parts together (in my head) for my first SBR. It'll have a folding stock & the Dolos quick disconnect barrel so it'll easily fit in a laptop bag with room for extra mags.  Just a thought.
