I ended up not getting them done and have to call PrintScan tomorrow to see if they can straighten it out or refund me. I even went through the process on my phone with the clerk and neither him or any of the other employees had a clue on what to do. |

Just use https://www.nationalguntrusts.com/ and select the mail in option with pre-paid label. I had some issues and both the folks at National Guntrusts and Printscan handled it extremely well. National GunTrusts was responsive on the weekend and PrintScan fixed the issue and made. the file available just a couple of hours after opening on Monday morning. Yes the pre-paid cost more. Fuck the poors. |

I left a voicemail this morning and within 30 minutes got a call back and an email with the QR code. Just make sure you have that before you show up at the UPS store. Had a different crew at the UPS store today and they were very helpful and I had my digital prints done within 20 minutes. Received the email with the download link before I even left the store. Just make sure you don't download the prints on your phone. |

I just got done and got the email too. I get why they say that but it wouldn’t really hurt anything to download it to your phone and then upload it to your own file server. I’ll do what they say though and download it when I get home. The process was pretty painless. |

Would I be correct in ASSuming that I can ignore the Cover Letter that came with the submission email from the ATF stating that I need to submit fingerprint cards within 10 days since I already submitted the ETF file? ETA: In looking at the Cover Letter more closely it has a little grid at the bottom with my name in the first column and REC’D in the second column. I’m guessing that means they have my prints so I’m good to go. |

Maybe good news for some. If you have your prints on file with Silencer shop, they may be setting something up on their site to submit your form 1's. No idea what they will charge though. Snip from their blog Attached File |

At least the EFT file has the basic information like name and address in standard ASCII so you can modify it if you move. |

How would having a healing cut injury on one of your fingers have with prints? I doubt I will form 1 anything but if I did, I would need an eft file. But I recently cut my pointer finger and it's all messed up (on finger tip pad). So that got me thinking if I could even get my prints done. Or if those prints would just be rejected. |

I did open a copy of the EFT with a text editor and it looks like all of the identifying info is in the first line in plain text, with number prefixes (01, 02, 03, etc.) identifying the fields. I'm not sure if I can edit it just a text editor (without corrupting it) and if I can just add the SSN to the appropriate location. |

Is it normal to have the ATF ask for finger print cards after you've submitted them via EFT file? When I received my confirmation email that my form one moved from submitted to "in process" the cover letter still says they need prints. I'm thinking this is just a default thing that's sent out in case you didn't upload EFT prints. Also, do I send the CLEO the responsible persons form that I up loaded and the water marked form 1 that the ATF emails you? Or, just the responsible persons form? I think they both have the same info. |

Only ones that need to be engraved are “privately made firearms”, for example an 80% lower that has no information on it. If you have a standard lower from Colt, SiG, Spikes, Aero, etc. that has the normal manufacturers engravings (serial, model, address), you don’t need to engrave any other info. You just use the existing manufacture’s info. Doesn’t matter if it started as a stripped lower, complete lower, or complete gun. |

Hate to spend the money and have prints rejected. they say if they are rejected you can get one do over for free from what I was reading after I paid my money. they have it in there FAQ. so that might be a bright point if you try it and it gets thrown back. you could heal up and then go get a new set done. ouch about the finger. |
