Again, reread what I just posted above.  ANY TUBE FED SHOTGUN for the reasons I again described above.  Benelli is no different.

No, double bbl shotguns won't have this problem.  Tube fed shotguns from the Spencer onwards will.

You're asking a spring to sit completely compressed, for months, then slide close to a pound of shells more than two inches in the magazine to feed one round.  And it has to be not impossible to feed, nor so tight as to crush plastic or paper shells stacked in the mag for months.

ETA:  Most hunting shotguns have plugs in the mags - which keep the spring from being completely compressed - which is perhaps why you've not noticed this on yer old Brownings.  Throw an extended mag on those and leave em topped up w/ buckshot or slugs, you'll have the same problem.

Ok. Thanks guys. So, I now understand 'any' tube fed shotgun has the spring issue if compressed,
including Benelli. I guess I'll keep that one unloaded.

I'm glad I was to busy this week to drop off that Mossberg for consignment. I'll keep it and get
extra springs for it.

I suppose I'll try to get to adding that Magpul SGA stock I bought for it today.
Now I have that Mossberg adjustable sitting around. I was hoping it would fit
the semi-auto version 12ga but doesn't look like it will.

I want a semi-auto 12ga next.
