pulled trigger on a perst 3 red laser unit,
i will have a surefire m952v for IR comparison and eotech lbc with red and IR laser. So far my eotech lbc vis red is brighter than any streamlight even in green. The m952v is lack luster for IR, max illumination maybe 75 yards |

Thanks for that. I just ordered an FDE “Plus” model. The page claims the Plus model have higher output across both visible and IR outputs. I’ll compare it to my standard Perst-3 once it arrives and see what the differences are. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Black Phase Tactical has the FDE/Desert Perst-3+ green Never heard of them before but I'm very tempted I’ll compare it to my standard Perst-3 once it arrives and see what the differences are. Looks like I should have grabbed one as they are off the site now. |

FYI: I asked Ivan and he said FDE/Tan Persts would be old stock. Something about the coating not being acceptable so they went back to only black.

Got the laser delivered today. Overall impressions are just ok for appearance and satisfied with performance. The switch to increase the power output of the laser is a neat feature. Will be out at my dad's property camping this weekend and we plan on doing a good bit of night shooting. I'm looking forward to comparing it to my two Holosun IR&Vis lasers. My only gripe is it didn't come with the switch, but it has two activation buttons so it shouldn't be a big deal. If anyone has one they wont use, I might be interested in making a deal.

Anybody know the height above the rail of the lasers and illuminators on the perst 3+?
I’m wondering if it will clear the recessed rail on the Cloud Defensive COR rail? |

I think I would be afraid of "Ralphie" "shooting my own eye out with these"
So you can blind your self or someone else with just a quick sweep. What about just the splash and reflection off of stuff. |

Pressing again will turn it off. Pressing and holding button will turn laser on and it will turn off after releasing the button. Double pressing the button turns on 2 Hz strobe mode. Looking up that dog breed... (was set on a Mal)
Good vid, downloaded and saved. |
|
In the Black Phase Tactical video, the dot size of the IR laser designator (Perst 3 Green + model) sure looked huge. The bloom was distracting. The dot size and control of the Perst 4 model looked much better IMO. I wonder if it was the video, or if that is the result of the "+" model?
I would like to see some pics of that illuminator down range, 300 - 800 yards. It looks small in the video, but bet it would fill the screen of a PVS 22/30 nicely down range. |

Can anybody measure the length of the pressure switch on one of these things?
I’m looking to replace my Midwest Industries rail to address my rail flex issues and I’m wondering if the switch or the laser unit will fit in the recess of a Cloud Defensive COR rail. |

Switch is right at 4" with the cable. Perst-4 is about 3.25" https://i.imgur.com/OTPkOz0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/iBCmtrc.jpg View Quote Cloud Defensive really needs to make longer rails and a version with the larger cutout up front. |

Played with the PERST 4 a bit this weekend. Had to wait until late evening to be able to line up the red laser with my scope. The intensity of the laser had to be turned all the way up to get any real distance but was able to get out to the end of my 200m range with it. Didn't shoot it much but overall satisfied with. Didn't take any photos though.

I own a (edit), so if the pointer is similar that would be fine. The (edit) has the option/advantage of keeping the diffuser lens cover on if needed. True the (edit) will bloom especially on high, but there is still a defined dot in the center of the bloom. Guessing the video just can't pick up the center dot definition. Looking forward to the next video. |

a little confusing at the end if you were using Peq or Perst as you switched and didnt say
also living in remote alaska has made me so used to not seeing so much light pollution that you get, it would be nice to see less horizon filled distorting burns |

No, I have a vampire for that gun. The -4 is nice and small and will fit it nicely. On the other guns, the large -2 would work well, and would eliminate the need for a separate flash light. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
