Working on a 10/22 takedown build. Figured collect the parts while I'm away on a deployment. Looking for suggestions and reviews on which path to go down. Fortunately with the takedown, if one route doesn't work out, shouldn't be too hard to switch. Path A) Integrally Suppressed Takedown Barrel - Angstadt Arms 10/22 Takedown - $535 This seems to be easiest and least complicated method. However current inventory limits to Angstadt Arms. Seen mixed reviews on integrally suppressed barrels. Path B) Barrel plus Suppressor Buy a threaded takedown barrel and add any variety of 22lr can. Costs more depending on barrel and can; may need to SBR the 10/22 TD receiver for a more compact package. Seen this TacSol - Takedown Barrel for $350 with a 12in barrel and shroud for a 1in diameter suppressor. Any thoughts on either of these paths? Pitfalls to worry about? |

I have one of the TacSol SB-X barrels, and it was great when a SBR stamp was $200. It can be a pain in the ass if the rear part of the suppressor comes loose and gets stuck down in the shroud, though. That's what happened with my CGS Hyrda. CGS was great, though, they had me ship them the barrel and used a blemed tube and some RockSett to extract the rear cap for me, then mailed it and the barrel back to me. Personally, I'd go with a short (8"-11") barrel and a modern flow-through suppressor. .22 is already dirty enough, no reason to make it even dirtier. Just get a good ultrasonic cleaner too, I have an iSonic P4810 and it's great. |

Put it in a Magpul stock. You can cut clearance in the barrel spacer insert to accommodate suppressor. |
